Inter-counties, Andover.

16th September 2007.

Needless to say I was shattered after Belfast! But I was on the road again for a 2 hour journey this time, the pillow stayed with me though. I only remember being picked up then getting to the ground and it being so foggy I couldn’t see the targets.

We were some of the first people there, but time passed and the fog cleared and more archers arrived. My shooting was on form despite being like a zombie with huge bags under my eyes. Thanks to the Gower family for feeding me delicious bacon butties, you are lifesavers.

I reserved a jacket for lunch and couldn’t resist a chocolate brownie for pud. The wind picked up during the day, but I managed to stay on the boss and put in what I thought was a reasonable score for the day.

Paul and I packed up and were eager to get home (and to bed).

I received an email of the results from Mandy, our county records officer. I had put in the highest ladies Recurve score of the day and had won the Inger Frith memorial trophy, so there’s something to be said for burning the candle at both ends!

Inger Frith Trophy.

Inger Frith Memorial Trophy for Ladies awarded at the Kent Archery Association annual general meeting in November.
