Kent Open Champs, Dartford.

19th August 2007.

Got a lift to the Leigh Technical College with a member of my club, we nearly got lost trying to find the place and stumbled upon it by accident. Well I should say it was excellent navigation that got us there seeing as it was me who was doing it, but I won’t lie.

The weather started off ok, grey but dry and breezy. It didn’t stay that way though, just like my shooting really. The first two dozen went fine, staying at MB standard, then my forward loose crept in and for the final 4 dozen at 80 yards it was less than first class standard.

Lunch time came and bacon butties all round. I sorted myself out (by giving myself a good telling off) and put in a blinding 60 and 50 e.g. only 3 sevens at 50.

Unfortunately my efforts were not enough for me to secure the open trophy (the gorgeous *ahem cough* horn) but I still retained the most golds, lady salver and county challenge medal. Unfortunately I had also forgotten to bring all of the trophies with me oops!!

Congratulations and apologies to Yvonne Wade who won the Open and who only got the trophy on the 4th November.
