4th November 2007.
Paul and I had a significantly less troublesome journey into Essex this time, I even remembered where the school was.
We got booked in and Alex popped by to give me my trophy for the Racketts shoot previous to this one. No matter what I did today, I’d be walking away with some silverware even if it wasn’t fruit of the day’s shooting.
Unlike last year where I was a bag of nerves having never shot a record status FITA 18 before, I remained perfectly calm. Laughing at Dave’s efforts in the previous session helped. He somehow managed to drop over 100 points on what he normally does!
I shot reasonably well, but too many reds crept in and there weren’t enough tens. I scored 527, 9 points from my pb. It was enough to secure me second place, 5 more points would have won the day. My thanks and congratulations go to Rob Markham for yet again organising and hosting a superb shoot. Nice one Rob.
