William Somner, Canterbury.

2nd September 2007.

Having collected my bright shiny new bike yesterday, I couldn’t resist riding it down to Canterbury.

Ron picked up my bowcase and chair and I took the rest of my supplies in a burgen and had a wonderful time riding down. I got on to the Ashford road and noticed a silver bike had been following me for some time.

It followed me up Charing hill and through Challock. I wonder a little thought crept into my head. I know someone who has a silver bike and helmet who might be going in this direction.

My little thought was confirmed when we got to the Simon Langton Girls School it was Mark Davis, judge for the day.

What followed was a fairly sunny day. This time I was relaxed because I knew I had four more opportunities to achieve my Master Bowman as the Lilleshall shoot had been confirmed. After a blinding 80 yards, I relaxed a little too much into 60 and 50 and scored less than I could have done.

I still attained MB with 1107 scored, well over 33 handicap (ladies MB). I took the ladies salver back home with me and picked up the most golds trophy too.

Woohoo after a year of trying to get it, I finally got my MB for target, now to see how long it would take GNAS to send it to me
