Date - 14th April 2008.
Not the least bit nervous today, but something tells me I should've been as it was my first day in my new job. Yes, goodbye Tesco and hello Soil Mechanics! I had an interview a fortnight ago and within a few hours I was offered the job.
I'm now officially an Assistant Geologist so I get to dig holes in the ground. And for all those people I've told – no its not Archaeology! I'm not interested in human/ancient remains (although it would be cool to find something), I analyse soils and rocks for strength and contamination, usually for development sites e.g. houses. Still, there's plenty for me to learn and I'm loving it!
